The WYCD Downtown Hoedown welcomes back for the third year in a row, Justine Blazer! She is a Michigan based world-class singer, national recording artist, BMI songwriter, guitarist, entertainer and musician performing all throughout the Midwest, playing over 120 shows a year regionally and nationally. She has been in the industry for well over a decade and is well respected amongst her peers. Her sound is new age country with hints of pop, soul, blues and southern rock mixed in.
She has opened for national acts such as Lonestar, Josh Gracin, Terri Clark, The Miracles, Jason Aldean, Bucky Covington, Whiskey Falls, Jason Michael Carroll, Lee Roy Parnell, and Thousand Foot Krutch. In 2007, Blazer was nominated for three Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Vocalist, Outstanding Songwriter and Outstanding Artist. She also won the Detroit Blues Challenge competition, round four. In 2008, Blazer received another Detroit Music Award nomination for her album, Red White and Blue. It was up for "Country Album of the Year".
This natural beauty, former model and true talent is not only a vocalist but also she plays the keyboard, piano, harmonica, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. She recently got signed and endorsed by Luna/Dean Guitars Inc. Blazer just released her debut music video, directed by Ryan Archibald, for her song “Red, White and Blue”. Blazer is currently working on her fourth international release LP, which is slated to be released in the late 2009 timeframe.
