GIRL’S JUST WANNA HAVE FUN…..

Hail to “Queen TUT 2008”!!!  After our annual “Wild Woman’s Weekend”….I am SO proud to say that I, Linda Lee, was crowned “Queen TUT” this past weekend at Tip Up Town in Houghton Lake! What a blast, to get all my friends, sister’s and even my daughter Gina, all together, for a wild weekend of “She-Male Bonding”!  We decided 3 years ago, to have an annual “Queen TUT”, to recognize and award the girlfriend who goes out of her way, to make the weekend fun for all…..and the one who “gets the party started, and keeps it going all weekend long!”

I did not officially receive my crown, until Sunday morning, when “Queen TUT 2007”, my sister Jill, presented me with the crown, along with an emotional speech! You see, we do this every year, all the girl’s go away for the weekend, T.U.T. in January, and up north rafting for a weekend in the summer!  I so believe that life is short, so you gotta enjoy it to the fullest. Spending a whole weekend, with “just the girlfriends”, away from work, housework, kids, and the hustle-bustle lives we all lead, really is good for the soul! And boy, do MY friends and family know how to cut loose, party and have fun! We spent time at the Tip Up Town Ice Festival, even more time in the heated beer tent with the 1,300 capacity crowd, all woo-hooing and dancing to the live band! We wanted to rent snowmobiles for a few hours during the day, but the place we rented from before was closed……so thank goodness we ran into old friends from Wayne MI., who took everyone who wanted to ride out for fun on the ice!

When I got home, and checked my e-mail, first thing I saw, was from my cousin Cheryl, (who is the WYCD receptionist too!) and the subject line said, “Linda, this is SO you…” …..and it was Psalm 55:22, “Friends are God’s way of taking care of us”, along with a heart tugging story, about being a friend to one and all! Made me tear up and thank the good Lord once again, for all my blessings, including all my GREAT friends, and how lucky we are to be able to spend time together!!!

I would love to hear about YOU, and YOUR friends and what you do to cut loose and have fun together…..but beware, as “Leader of our Pack,” I just may steal your ideas!

A Proud Father's Memories on Memorial Day

"As I sit here in my living room, surrounded by memories of times past, I see photographs of happier times. I see Justin’s Senior Picture…taken in my dark blue suit and tie, (The tie that I had to tie and that he complained about.) “It’s not me” he said putting it on.  .  .. Those people that we speak about during ceremonies, parades and speeches, are real people, not distant heroes, Our Heroes. They have real families. They deserve this day. Please honor them for their sacrifices, because at my house… everyday is Memorial Day."  Please feel free to share your thoughts inside, on this, and what Memorial Day means to you.

"  Share your thoughts on Kellie's new hit single!

What motion pictures should be filmed in Michigan?

So, I heard about our Governor signing legislation that would permit some 80 motion pictures to be filmed in Michigan. And it got me to thinking.. what movies would anyone want to film in Michigan. And I came up with this list. Feel free to add your own ideas. . .

Jyl's trip to Guatemala!

Guatemala turned out to be so much more wonderful that I ever imagined.  We fell in love with the people and their rich culture. . . . Have you ever considere d living somewhere else? I really never did until I started traveling to CentralAmerica and meeting so many Americans who have relocated. . .
