Do you have time to send a letter?

Hello Linda,
I'm a long time listener of WYCD. You and Chuck are my favorites. I listen to your show and am touched by the stories you have about helping others in need and the joy you bring to their lives. I'm asking for your help.

A friend of mine sent me the below letter. Joshua really could you some prayers and support. Is there anyway you can reach out to the listeners for Joshua's sake to let him know he has angels all around him? I would really appreciate anything you can do. ~ Jill Gabriel

Here is the letter she emailed me:

Request for Letters of Encouragement

As most of you are aware my Nephew Joshua has been in the hospital since December 14, 2007. Joshua has Muscular Dystrophy and had 2 Heart Attacks as a result of low potassium when he was hospitalized for a bowel obstruction, since that time he has been on a ventilator which was updated to a trach in late December. Due to the medication they put him on to treat his heart his toes and feet did not receive blood flow. This caused gangrene to set in. Just recently he had to have his leg amputated. The good news from all this is Joshua has a sense of pride and humor that allows him not to give up even after being brought back to life twice. The other good side of this is he is currently being weaned off his ventilator and Doctors’ are extremely hopeful that he will be able to recover off of the ventilator, because his body is no longer fighting the infection that lived in his bloodstream. He will be home soon if all this falls into place.

My goal is to get as many cards and pictures of encouragement sent to him within the next couple of weeks. He likes Hockey and the Tigers. My sister and I will be sure to give them to him on a daily basis. Please send this email around and let’s keep his spirits up and also keep him in your prayers.

Fundraiser Update

Josh's Fundraiser was on Saturday May 10. The Hockey League raised $1200.00 for Josh. This will be put towards revamping his bathroom and bedroom so that it can be more wheelchair friendly. We need some contractors to help with an extreme makeover so that we can take care of him at home better. We the family would like to thank everyone for all of the well wishes and prayers. We will update you on the construction process and his homecoming. The hoedown was one of his favorite events and he missed this years but he will be at next years. Josh, may the good Lord guide you and give you the strength (I think he already has!!) to get through this. Home Makeover

We are currently trying to locate a contractor/builder to reconstruct Joshua's Bedroom/Bathroom to be more wheelchair friendly. Contacted Lombardo Homes on Monday still waiting for reply. If there are any contractors out there I can get the helpers. We really want to get Joshua Home!!!!
