FRIDAY'S ARTIST LINE-UP

Here's a chance for you to get to know more about who we have in store for you at the 2008 WYCD Hoedown on Friday, May 9th!  CLICK HERE FOR COMPLETE TIME SCHEDULE (subject to change.)

JOSH GRACIN
Gracin is admittedly most excited about his newest single, the title track, "We Weren't Crazy."  This time around I got to dig in and share my stories as a songwriter. I'm so proud of how this song turned out," he said.
JEWEL
"I’ve been writing country songs my whole career; some of the songs on this record date back to when I was 18 years old. I’ve been hanging on to them until now. They were meant for a record like this one.”
LADY ANTEBELLUM
In the summer of 2006, three gifted young adults walked into a house to create music, uncertain of where they were headed—and Lady Antebellum walked out. . .
RISSI PALMER
"Rissi checks all the boxes," says an enthusiastic 1720 CEO Terry Johnson. "She's an incredible vocalist and a great lyricist who writes most all of her own music and plays guitar. But as gifted as she is in all those areas, the special thing about Rissi is her heart and her spirit. It's who she is as a person, and when you combine all that, you really have a superstar in the making."

PHIL STACEY
"I know what I stand for," he says. "My life revolves around my family and my music. I love being active in my church and I was proud during Idol to represent the Navy and just kind of be a unifying factor for Americans."
CARTER'S CHORD
"As soon as I saw these girls perform, I knew they had to be on Show Dog," says Toby Keith. "I could see and hear that they not only have the talent but also the combination of musical roots and contemporary artistry to take them all the way."
JASON MICHAEL CARROLL
". . .to hear him is to hear a straight-up, full-tilt, no-frills country singer who works a groove like a mule team, a melody like a barrel racer going for time, and a tear jerker with the dignity of Sunday grace."
FIDDLERS RESTRUNG
Made up entirely of students at Saline High School in Saline, Michigan, members are top scholars and athletes, and all share a passion for performing.
SARAH LENORE
Sarah Lenore, a 19-year-old Detroit native, finally made the long overdue move to Nashville in August 2007. Since performing as an 8-year-old in the National Broadway touring musical Showboat - starring Tom Bosley - at the Masonic Temple in 1997, Sarah has done it all in Michigan!
JEN CASS
Born to unusually hip parents in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, singer-songwriter Jen Cass was raised on a healthy mix of folk music, homegrown vegetables, spontaneous dancing, black licorice and Motown . . .
COMPANY OF STRANGERS
Ten years together have made Company of Strangers very comfortable at what they love doing best... playing music and making certain their audience enjoys it!
THE BARN BURNERS
Scott Manery & The Barn Burners started out as Scott's side project to record some of his original songs. Mission accomplished. . .
SKIN AND BONES
“We play country the way they played country when country was country,” says singer guitarist Nick Pivot. ‘Nuff said.
BILLY BRANDT
CONGRATULATIONS to Billy Brandt as the 2008 Detroit Music Award Winner for Outstanding Acoustic/Folk Instrumentalist and Outstanding Acoustic Folk Recording for "Mission Band."
LUKE SAYERS
Critics have said Luke is a “versatile young songwriter”, “possessed with soul”, and have described his songs as “just gorgeous”.
