Remember the movie “Pay It Forward”?? I sure do, it is SO true….if everyone did something nice for a stranger, and they did the same, for another…it’s like Clay Walker say’s, it’s the “Chain of Love”!
I want to share with you, just part of an e-mail I received today: Several years ago I was working at the Joe.. I took a smoke break outside in the rain and you and(big, tall) shared your umbrella.Later you came inside and made a purchase from my souvenir stand and gave me a $5.00 tip. Let me tell you ..that’s nice on it’s own, but at that time I needed that five dollars like you can’t even imagine. It was a million to me.
I never forgot it
Here is part of my response to her: WOW…..you sure did put a BIG smile on my face, thank YOU!!! You just never know, when what seems like a “simple act of kindness” can mean SO much to someone…but that is what I always hope for, when trying to be a good and nice person! You just reminded me of something that happened a couple weeks ago too.
An older lady got behind me in line at Kroger…I had a FULL cart of groceries, she had one item. I asked the cashier, if he could let her go first, but he had already started ringing my order, and seemed “flustered” at my request, so I said, “that’s OK, never mind”. The lady behind me, was not paying attention, so I grabbed her one item, a box of donuts, had the cashier add it onto my bill, turned around, handed her the donuts, and said, “here you go, I already paid for your donuts, you are all set, and don’t need to wait here in line now”! She about CRIED, seemed like she was in shock, and tried to give me the $1 for the donuts….I said, no. seriously, that’s OK, I got it! Look at all the crap in my cart…..one little dollar is no big deal. She said, it IS a big deal to me, and SO nice of you, I am just flabbergasted….you really made my day, and tomorrow, when I am having my coffee and donut, I will be fondly thinking of you! I told her…you know what, if one day you can “pay it forward”, just do the same thing to someone else, and “make their day”!!! I am not tooting my own horn at all….just thought you might enjoy hearing that story…..I am smiling right now, just remembering it, as I had actually forgotten, and never even mentioned it to anyone else!
I would LOVE to hear YOUR story….will you please share one with me and maybe inspire just one more person to do this too???
Linda has requested this post to thank all of you very much for all of your kind words of encouragement and sympathy during this difficult time. She wanted each and every one of you to know how very much she appreciates your support. She also expresses that her faith is strong through this, and though it’s not yet clear, she knows God has a reason and a plan for everyone.
99.5 WYCD is saddened to tell you of the loss of Linda Lee’s baby brother (35 years old) last night, September 21st. She posts this on her Facebook profile: “With a heavy heart and GREAT sadness, I am sorry to tell my friends here, that my 35 year old, “baby” brother, Robert Keyandwy, passed away last night, and has joined my Dad in Heaven. Our family is in shock and disbelief, but comforted that he is with our Dad. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.”
Your comments and condolences are being approved and we promise you that Linda Lee is reading them. We respect her privacy at this time until she returns to thank you all personally.
Heartfelt condolences and love from family and friends at 99.5 WYCD to Linda Lee and her entire family.
I am writing this with a very heavy heart, filled with sorrow, as I say goodbye to my HERO, the “toughest-strongest Man I kave ever known, my Father, Donald Douglas Keyandwy….aka “The Big Indian’. My Dad passed away, peacefully in his sleep, Saturday morning (9/19/09) , here at home with me and my big/tall husband, Jeff.
My Dad was very ill, and was truly suffering, and I thank God, that he answered my Dad’s prayers, to “take him HOME” . I felt such HUGE thanks to the good Lord, as my Dad was the biggest trouper, throughout his illnesses, and the funniest son of a gun you could ever imagine. He kept that quick wit and sense of humor, right till the very end……cracking me up with his jokes and POSITIVE attitude. He and I prayed together, that God would make him well, or take him to Heaven, and HE DID!!!
I would like to thank you all so very much, for your thoughts and prayers, for myself and my family, during this most difficult time. We appreciate that MORE than you could ever know. Losing a parent, is never easy, but I do take GREAT comfort, in knowing that he is at peace, and no longer suffering with pain and illness. I will be back to work soon…..and thanks to my Dad, who taught me, by EXAMPLE, I will remain STRONG and POSITIVE. That is one promise I intend to keep!!!! Thanks again to YOU, for your concern and prayers….love and God bless you and yours.
Unless there REALLY is a “Fountain of Youth”……(and if you find one, PLEASE let ME know!)……it is inevitable, we are all getting older! My big/tall husband and I both, LOVE our elderly parents, and want to give them the help and care they need, just like they cared for us, when we needed it most! That’s why we are now the proud, Co-Founder’s of “Daddy Day Care”, here at our home on Zukey Lake! My Dad has lived with us for years, and Jeff’s 87 year old Dad, who just had heart surgery on 9/15, has moved in with us for at least the next couple of weeks! Never a dull moment around here……we have our 2 Yorkies, Elvis & Priscilla and Jeff’s Dad’s best friend, “Punky” has joined us here as well. But we are truly blessed, to be able to care for our Dad’s here at home!I swear, in the midst of all this chaos, we find ourselves laughing ALL the time. It’s SO much different, caring for your parents, than it is taking care of your children. They are quick to pull out the “I’m still YOUR Dad” card, when we have a disagreement….even though our disagreements, are about taking meds, eating the right foods, and basically, getting them to do the things they are supposed to do, to stay as well as possible! We now have a whole new respect, for EVERYONE who is a caretaker, of someone they love, as this is not an easy job, but it sure feels good to know, that we are giving them the love, and care they DESERVE, during their “Golden Years”! Would you, if you were able to, help take care of your parents??? Are you taking care of one or both your parents? Please give us your feedback and advice! Linda Lee & Jeff
People ask me all the time, “Linda, how do you always sound so happy on the radio…..are you REALLY happy all the time?”. Well of course, I’m not happy ALL the time, I am just like you. I have life’s ups and downs to deal with every day…but I HAVE changed my way of thinking. Thanks to an old, wise friend of mine who sent me a DVD last July called “The Secret”, after I watched it, my life changed TREMENDOUSLY for the better. Why??? Because it taught me that there is only ONE THING that I CAN control, and that is MY way of thinking. In a nutshell, “The Secret” tells you, that #1, you can only control your thoughts, nobody elses, period. And if YOU think POSITIVE, it will attract positive things into your life. This is not easy at all, but IT WORKS! I have had terrible things happen since last July, but by dealing with them in a POSITIVE manner, and BELIEVING that there will be positive results in the end…..that is exactly what has happened. I have always said, “with faith in God and yourself, ALL things are possible”, and now I am living proof that it is true. I really want the same to happen for you, and for all my friends and family….but I cannot control how YOU think, only YOU can. But I can suggest that you watch “The Secret”, or read the book and give it a try, the rest is up to you!!!! Would you like to change your life for the better?? Please let me know if you do!!!
I am just so dang excited today. My Dad has been in the hospital since 12/28/09, so sick, he nearly died and was in really bad shape. BUT…Woo-HOO….”The Big Indian/SuperMan” has since recovered, and after nearly 3 weeks in rehab (At Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Warren Campus, where they are AWESOME!!!) he is coming HOME tomorrow! He lives with me and my big/tall boyfriend, (who has been the most loving and supportive man in the world!) and I am SO excited, I feel like a little kid, on Christmas Eve! Just wanted to share my excitement with you! Here he is, on St. Patty’s Day at the rehab hospital…Can you see where I get my wacky side from??
OK….after some serious peer pressure, I have finally joined FaceBook! A bit overwhelming at first, trying to get the hang of it, but I must admit, it is pretty cool! SO now I am houding all my online friends and family members to do the same! Are you on FaceBook?
I was just sitting here thinking….My Mom is so AWESOME…….she e-mails me every day, some pretty inspirational prayers, from Joel Olsteen and his wife Victoria. It’s such a great way for me to start each day, with prayer and inspiration. Times are SO tough right now, for everyone, and I feel like shouting from the rooftops….”KEEP THE FAITH“!!! It’s so hard to keep believing that things will get better, when sometimes, it seems there is no “light at the end of the tunnel”. I’ve been praying for a miracle, for my Dad, every single day since 12/28/08 when I had to call 911, and the ambulance came to his rescue at our home. I just kept praying, that he would be able to recover from several. life-threatening illnesses, and be able to come back home with me and our family. And GUESS WHAT??? It’s like a miracle, he IS recovering and doing SO well at the Henry Ford Hospital, Warren Campus Rehab center……..his “target come home date is March 26th!!!! No matter how grim things may seem, KEEP THE FAITH!!!! Do you have an inspirational story to share with me and everyone else who is struggling to “Keep the Faith? Please share!!!
Someone I love VERY much, has been VERY sick, and in the hospital, since December 28, 2008, when I frantically called 911 to come to our home. It’s my HERO, my Dad, “The Big Indian“. I have not talked about it on the radio, as I know that everyone is struggling with their own problems. It’s my job to “be happy & entertaining” and I certainly do not want to bring anyone down, when times are SO tough for EVERYONE. But since you obviously care enough to read this, I will tell you, that my Dad, who lives with me, was in extremely critical condition in ICU for over 40 days, with several, life threatening illnesses, and one of them, was internal bleeding. The GOOD NEWS, is that, last Friday (2/27) he was released into a rehab hospital, where he is getting therapy to rebuild his strength, so he can walk and eat again…..and come HOME!!!!
Friday (3/6) Chuck and I will be at Buff Whelan Chevrolet, for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, and I REALLY hope, you will come out and give the “Gift Of Life” and donate blood! My Dad, has received at least 8 units of blood so far, and is actually getting 2 more, LIFE SAVING units of blood, as I write this. If you wonder if donating blood really makes a difference, I am here to tell you YES, It does! You CAN save a life……see my Dad & me, just 3 days before he got sick, and how happy we are!!!! THANKS to YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Call me crazy, but I personally, think it is IMPOSSIBLE to REALLY love 2 people at one time. Jason….aka “The Tool”… does not know what real love is at all. Lust, infatuation, chemistry, and sexual attraction, are NOT the same as “LOVE”.
Hats off to Melissa, for exiting with her head held high, (after calling him a BAS**RD….you go girl!) and how could Molly be SUCH a fool, to swoon after him on national television, after he dumped her like a bad habit, and broke her heart, while the whole world watched. Just pitiful.
I think Jason “fell in love” with having 2 sweet, beautiful women, loving HIM! When you really love someone, you have NO desire to be with anyone else, period. Disagree with me????
