Hitting stores this summer is the new album from 2009 WYCD Hoedown Artist, Jack Ingram, Big Dreams and High Hopes!"Barefoot and Crazy," the second single from his upcoming album, is already being touted as a perfect song for the summer season.
"I never thought I would say that because I always thought, 'What's summer music?'," Ingram told Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "But, it's the playful hopefulness of what summer can bring, getting barefoot and crazy and having a good time and letting it all hang out for a while."
And hang out he will. A veteran of the Texas club scene, Ingram's no stranger to getting crowd's worked up into a frenzy. But with a string of hit singles since "Wherever You Are" topped the chart in 2005, he's been reaching a new level of fans while supporting the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley and Toby Keith as an opener on their tours.
Before embarking on a headlining tour, Ingram is currently on his first USO Tour, performing for troops in Cuba's Guantanamo Bay.
"The soldiers have supported me my entire life. I get to go play music for a living while they are on the front lines fighting daily for us," Ingram says. "When the USO called, it provided me an opportunity to give them at least an hour of escape from the reality of their jobs. You know, it's one thing to provide relief for someone here in the States with a nine-to-five job, but it's even more of an honor to get to play for people working around the clock for our freedom."
