Who am I and how did I get here? I’m Linda Lee, born in Detroit, and raised in Westland, where my family moved when I was two years old. My parents had another 3 kids after me, then, divorced when I was 10. They both remarried and had even MORE kids, so now; I am the oldest of 9 children! We are a VERY close family, everyone gets along and we all hang out together too! Of course with THAT many kids, as you can imagine, it IS chaotic & crazy, but I would not have it any other way!
I was a single, divorced Mom, working at Ford Motor Company’s, Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, when I developed “bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome”. Permanent nerve damage in both hands, and through a Workman’s Comp re-training program, was able to attend Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. My workplace injury became a “blessing in disguise”, because it led me to this career that I LOVE, here at 99.5 WYCD! I have been on the air here since 1995, starting in Morning Drive, and then moved to Afternoons, about 10 years ago.
I have a beautiful daughter Gina, also known as “Little Pumkin” and she is the light of my life! She is 24 years old, has her own house and works full time at Pizza Papalis in Toledo. I am SO proud of her; she has a heart of gold and is the best daughter a Mom could ever ask for! I have two Yorkies….my sweet little “babies”, Elvis & Pricilla. Obviously, I am an Elvis FREAK, I have a whole section of cheesy Elvis memorabilia in my basement too! Elvis is 7 years old, and his sister Priscilla is 5, and I cannot imagine my life without them!
My “Big/Tall Boyfriend” Jeff, and I, moved to Hamburg Twp in November 2008, when our lifelong dream, of having a house on a lake became a reality! My Dad, “The Big Indian” who moved in with me after his liver transplant in 2005, has had a tough couple of years with one serious health issue after another, due to diabetes, (His liver is still GREAT!) but he LOVES being here on the lake…..with all the “Critters” that live here in the country too!
I LOVE my job, fishing, camping and traveling whenever I can! I drive a Ford F-150 pickup truck, and it is STILL “Built Ford Tough” and runs good with over 150,000 miles on it! I am a TV junkie, and LOVE my TIVO, so I don’t miss all my favorite shows!, Chelsea Lately on the E Channel, American Idol, and Dancing With the Stars are my favorites! I love to cook and have house parties, and organize “Wild Woman’s Weekend’s” when all my girlfriend’s and me, go away for the weekend to cut loose and have fun!
Most of all I love the Lord, and thank God every day, for all of the blessings in my life! My personal motto is: Believe in God and yourself, and ALL things are possible. Set your goals high and reach for the STARS!
