As usual, lots going on at my “Westland Compound”…..well it’s not exactly a compound, but since Chuck calls HIS Brighton mansion a compound, I refuse to be outdone!
GUESS WHAT???? I have a “new addition”….she is Jessee, my 17 year old niece, and I am now her legal guardian! She is an AWESOME, smart, talented young lady, and I simply adore her! She is a straight A honor student & a high school senior, and will graduate in June. So of course, we are in the planning stages for her graduation party! But “where” is the burning question.
I have lived in the same house here for 22 years, and FINALLY got the nerve to make an offer on a lakefront house on Zukey Lake in Pinckney. While I am SO excited about the possibility of living on a lake (my LIFELONG DREAM!) I am wondering….how are we all gonna fit in a house half the size of this one?? There is me, my Dad, “The Big Indian” who lives with me now, after getting his liver transplant in October of 2005, my big/tall boyfriend, Elvis & Priscilla and Jessee too! Making an offer on a new house is SO exciting and yet scary at the same time…..and I HATE this “waiting part”. I made the offer almost 3 weeks ago, on a house that is owned by a bank, and it is taking FOREVER to get an answer……and let me tell you, patience is certainly not my strong suit! And I have called Westland my home for my whole life…..will I really be OK in another city???
All this nervous energy has spurred me on to begin “blogging”, which is new to me too. Please be gentle with me if you decide to comment on my first attempt here…..and I will keep you posted on any new developments. Here are some photos of the prospective new home:
