Devin's storytelling can move from the keyboard of a computer to the keyboard of a piano, or the strings of a guitar. As a musician and singer-songwriter, Devin has released three albums of original country and folk music. The single "Half Past You" from his Tulsa album raced up the charts in Europe, even hitting number one on the country charts in Denmark. Tulsa spawned four other singles. In addition to a number of televised performances (including America's Thanksgiving Parade), Devin has performed at Previous Hoedowns, and he's shared the stage with the likes of Toby Keith, Reba McEntire and LeAnn Rimes. With the band Arizona Son behind him, Devin plays a number of charity events every year.
As a journalist, Devin Scillian brings national and international reporting experience to his position as anchor of Detroit's top-rated newscast, Local First News at 11 PM and Local First News at 5 & 6 on WDIV-TV. His Sunday morning news program Flashpoint has become required viewing for those in the know. And he's been honored for his work both at home and abroad.
Devin Scillian's children's books are equal parts smiles, sighs, laughs and goose bumps. With a team of talented and acclaimed illustrators as partners, Devin's unique style of storytelling empowers children to feel proud of their heritage. His patriotic alphabet book A is for America has become a staple in classrooms, libraries, and children's nightstands. Published by Sleeping Bear Press, the book has been hailed by critics, parents, teachers, and, of course, children all over the country. And in books like Fibblestax and Cosmo's Moon, Devin's vivid imagination takes flight and invites readers to do the same.
