Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Hunter Brucks, has made music his life. His most recent album, Driven, was released in April 2006 and has been successful. Motor City soul meets Southern Rock and Roll is the best way to describe his music. Most recently, Hunter was asked to write and record music for the new motion picture Escanaba In The Moonlight.
The latest release, "Workin' Man," is inspired by Hunter's experiences from the past 20 years spent living and working as a farmer and truck driver and his development as a musician.
The song "20 Years" summarizes the life long struggle of juggling the trucking, farming and music business and touches on the loss of his father.
The "Cowboy Song" stands out on the record as the song that epitomizes Brucks' experience and perspective. Refusing to become part of the "cookie-cutter" New Country trend, Brucks sings about being an outsider and the true meaning of being a cowboy.
"Exit 49" is a more traditional country-influenced number that he wrote about a woman waiting for her man - in this case, a truck driver and a waitress at a truck stop.
