SONY BMG recently welcomed Cole Deggs & The Lonesome as the newest addition to its Columbia Nashville label. The five-piece band, fronted by Cole Deggs, is comprised of Coles brother Shade on bass, brothers Jimmy and DavidWallace on keyboards and lead guitar, respectively, and Florida native Brian Hayes on drums. The Deggs brothers grew up in Lake Jackson, TX, while the Wallaces hail from Shreveport, LA.
Cole is not only recording his own hit-songs to hit radio airwaves soon, but he’s also writing them for others. Cole wrote Tracy Byrd’s latest single “Cheapest Motel? as well as the upcoming debut single from MCA recording artist Jason Michael Caroll called “Waitin’ In The Country.? Cole also wrote “Live Those Songs? recorded by Kenny Chesney for his multi-platinum album No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem. The song is the title track to Kenny’s LIVE album.
Fifteen years in the making, Cole Deggs & The Lonesome is a genuine “band of brothers.? Individually, they are accomplished musicians and songwriters. Collectively, they are a rock steady, look-you-in-the-eye song craft, and their debut album for Columbia Nashville is a fusion of country rock and southern soul from a five-man band as real and genuine as the music they make.
