In December 2006 He went on stage for the 99.5 WYCD Annual Christmas Show to benefit Beaumont Hospital and Children's Miracle Network
Born and raised in Westland, Michigan, Josh Gracin's first public appearance was in the 8th grade at a grade school talent competiton, where he sang Garth Brooks' 1993 hit "Standing Outside the Fire" and won over an audience of his peers. While still in school, he was part of a talent competition that took him to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. After highschool he enlisted in the U.S. Marines, where he was two years into his four-year term, when he auditioned and was chosen as a finalist in American Idol. Gracin's self-titled debut album, featuring the first single "I Want to Live" was released in 2004, and it's second single, "Nothin' to Lose" reached No. 1 on Country Radio charts!
After delivering a Gold-selling debut and three consecutive top 5 singles to country radio, "American Idol" favorite Josh Gracin will release his much anticipated sophomore album, We Weren't Crazy, on April 1, 2008.
Josh Gracin's new CD, We Weren't Crazy allows audiences to take a more personal look inside the life of the "American Idol" season 2 finalist and former Marine. "This album is more me," says Gracin. "I was able to focus on making the album I wanted to make. For the first album, I was still in the service, so I had to fly in and out of Nashville to record when I could. This time around it had my undivided attention." Josh worked with producers Marty Williams and Brett James on the CD's eleven tracks.
Gracin is admittedly most excited about his newest single, the title track, "We Weren't Crazy." The autobiographical song was written by Gracin, Tony Lopacinski, and Bobby Pinson about Gracin's personal journey from childhood to raising
children and having a family of his own. "This time around I got to dig in and share my stories as a songwriter. I'm so proud of how this song turned out," he said.
