GM needs to keep the jobs here in Michigan. Orion Assembly produces the best in class vehicles and open the doors to other opportunities in the area. |

I think we need to get people who have lost their jobs in Micigan back to work--14.9% unemployment, which most is related to the auto industry. |

Please assist Michigan with their unemployment issues. Not only will this spark employment opportunities, but Michigan is where the car was born so please do not let it leave it's home. |

I feel that w/the financial difficulties that have hit the Big 3 and the bankruptcies that it is the duty and obligation to commit to a new plant in MI. As Michigan's survival depends on it. |

I've worked for GM for 25 years. If we lose this plant I will be forced to move my wife out of state, and away from her family. I'm not from here. It will be easy for me to take my money to another state, further contributing to the crippling blow that the MI economy is facing. It is the worst here. LOOK AT THE UNEMPLOYMENT HERE...and you want to take more jobs away??? The government better be ready for even more aid for the unemployed in MI. |

The only hope for Pontiac to re-open is if Orion is saved. We've already lost close to a 1000 workers just in the past year and will be losing another 750 or so by the end of summer. Where do we put this plant... seriously? People are baffled by this, people are actually considering NOT keeping this plant in MI? I cannot believe I have to sign a petition in the first place. Who, in their right mind, would oppose this? Everyone knows how the auto workers have been affected... what about the local businesses closing because auto employees don't stop for coffee on their way to work? What about city employees (policemen/women, firefighters...) that are let go when a plant closes? If anyone reading this disagrees, come to MI. Find a job, get a loan, pay for college. If you do, then I'll be amazed. |

My mom and dozens of her friends and relatives worked for GM for 30 years they were dedicated employees. With GM's current restructuring she and other friends and family members have lost important benefits. Benefits that will need to be supplemented by family, community and other resources. These huge losses will effect the quality of Michigan lives. It's only logical that GM establishes businesses here in Michigan to allow “us“ taxpayers to take care of “our“ GM retirees who gave to GM and Michigan their entire lives. We all deserve to live in dignity through out our lives!! Establishing facilities here make great business sense and is compassionate to those families who suffer at the hands of GM's restructuring efforts! |

If after all that has happened with the auto industry and Michigan if they take this work out of Michigan it will cause such irrepairable tensions among Michigan residents that I can't see the state ever recovering. |

Metro Detroit has the skill and the desire to build a quality vehicle. GM Engineering is here in Metro Detroit, as well as the engineering of most of GM's suppliers. uilding this plant else where would only cost more engineering dollars to produce a quality vehicle. |

I have had many family members affected by this lay-off and I encourage the use of this plant instead of spending and wasting tax dollars to build a different plant somewhere else. Isn't it time we keep jobs, our graduating students who have to go to other states to earn a living, and give the men and women of Michigan back their belief in this state????? Thank you. |

Not only does this affect GM employees and their families, it will also assist in saving some of the small business in the area and help rebuild our communities that are already feeling so beat up. |

As a longtime GM stock holder with certificates that are fairly worthless now, I surely do not want to see GM's new plant located outside of the Detroit area. Hey GM “dance with the one who brung ya!“ |
