Shelby Township Annual Pig Roast Benefit at Coyote Joe's!
A fellow firefighter, Eric Carpenter, died suddenly on May 19th 2009 from an undetected aortic aneurysm. He was only 34 years old and left behind his wife, 3 year old, 1 1/2 year old and 3 week old sons. Eric was a true American hero. He not only worked 56 hours a week helping the Shelby Township community survive accidents, fires, and medical emergencies but he also devoted extra time toward the Macomb County special rescue team called MUSAR. He has faithfully served not only Shelby Twp residents but many other neighboring communities when they needed him.
Eric's family is in need of money and support to continue the life that he intended for them.
The Shelby Twp. Fire and Police Departments want to invite you to join us for a picnic at Shadbush and benefit at Coyote Joe's on Sunday October 18th.
The picnic will be from 1-3PM with hot dogs, pop, water, candy, popcorn and cotton candy all available for a donation. There will be a costume contest for the kids with the winner getting the ride of their choice - fire truck or police car. We are expecting to have a bounce house and possibly Thomas the Train ride. We will also be doing pumpkin painting for the kids inside a tented area. While the kids events are going on we will be having a Police vs. Fire softball game at the field next to the kids events.
The picnic ends at 3PM and everyone is then invited to join us at Coyote Joe's (right next to the picnic area) for the pig roast.
Tickets are $20.00 for adults with food, pop, beer, and wine included. Kids 12 and under are free. Their will be a lot of big ticket raffle prizes available in the Chinese auction as well as a 50/50 raffle.
