I began my career in the wacky world of radio, doing mornings in Port Huron. That's actually where I grew up and where my family lives. I love that town on beautiful Lake Huron. I went to Michigan State University and received my degree in Telecommunications, Media Arts. Go Green! While at MSU, I did a lot of theater and even acted in a small campus television show. I moved back home after graduation in 2003, and started working part time in radio. Before I knew it, I was the full time morning show co-host for three years. It was a lot of fun!
Then everything changed with one little blind date. It was a Friday the 13th, and pouring rain! We were set to meet in Detroit. We were going to go to the WYCD Downtown Hoedown. To tell you the truth, that's the only reason I said yes (ha, ha), I wanted to go to the Hoedown and had never been before. To say the least we hit it off. That November, there was a birthday cake with "Will You Marry Me" written on it and a ring box embedded in the frosting. May, one year later to the day, we were married! Bad news though - I had to miss the Hoedown to go on my honeymoon ; )
So I moved from the little Po Ho to the Big City to live with my new hubby. 99.5 WYCD graciously made me a new home and I love it! I love being a part of Detroit's Best Country and all the wonderful new friends that I am making in my new town! 99.5 WYCD has huge things in store and I am so excited to be a part of it all. And you better believe I'll be at every Hoedown - celebrating my anniversary and having a rocking good time!
