Jyl Forsyth Weeknights 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
On June 13 1993…my first show aired on 99.5 WYCD. We started out as “Young Country” and thankfully, remaining young at heart has never been a challenge because we have shared such incredible times together with the great country music at the center of all we do. Even though a whole lot of life has happened to all of us in all the years 99.5 has been here, we have been a team since day #1.
You made me feel at home the minute you started calling all those years ago, and to this day, we remain great friends. I love you, our listeners……and if you have listened to me through the years, you know that is true. You are my nighttime friends and we really have a lot of fun and share a lot of life experiences, and there is always a country song for any situation! We soothe sad hearts and rock the party every night from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Here are some of the life changes I’ve had since becoming a part of the 99.5 WYCD family.
I married Brett, my best friend, in May 2006. (We are "old timers now!) haha!! When I started at "Young Country" Rhapsodieh came to work with me everynight and did the weather. She was a great little addition to the show. Having her around made for a great companion to hug at all times. We do radio hugs, but there's nothing like the real thing. Currently, our dogs are Jack, AmyJoy, Starlight and Sophia ( all yorkies) and our baby is DJ (a maltese).....we are one big happy family!
I bought my house when I started at 99.5 WYCD and though it is very small, everything in it has sentimental value. Not one piece of furniture is new…..all has been handed down from grandmas and grandpas and aunts and friends I have known along the way. I have also been able to travel around the world since I
came to 99.5 and got a life!! My house has my world travel treasures in it, and is my sanctuary. If you don’t already know, I am a true dog lover. Yorkies love mischief, as any Yorkie owner knows. They are so independent and fun. It’s amazing how dogs have their own personalities just like humans. Of course there are differences, as you know. We can be gone 10 minutes and you’d think we’d been away for weeks. Such love. DOG is GOD backwards…..I’ve always believed that is no mistake!
Every year I dress a doll for the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit, so children who wouldn't have a Christmas will get one. This organization is so wonderful.......they see to it that so many kids in so many cities get presents for Christmas! Check out the photos inside and SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS! Many opportunities to help during the upcoming holiday season! Listing inside!

On Sunday, October 12th, 99.5 WYCD's Jyl Forsyth and her furry friends participated in the "Leash Up for Life Pet Parade" at Stony Creek Metro Park - Baypoint Beach! Proceeds from this fun outing went to benefit My Friends Care Cancer Fund. Read more. . .
